Thus, although the ultrasound characteristics of the various butchers are made by private technicians certified by the Ultrasound Guidelines Council, the United States, or for courses organized by our Association Argentina of Angus with Dr. Doyle Wilson, Professor emeritus of Iowa State University, the interpretation of them is made in the ICIE, a task that is also certified by specialists in the U.S. entity.
Thus, information obtained from these measurements is processed, as the current growth characteristics, by the Unit of Animal Genetics Research Center Veterinary and Agronomic Sciences INTA Castelar, and integrated into the ERA program , obtaining the corresponding DEP for each of such features.
It is noteworthy that CIIE service is available to certified and qualified sonographers working in the country, not only for Angus, but also to other beef breeds, as a result of the corresponding agreements, so far, with the respective breed associations Bonsmara, Braford, Brahman, Brangus, Hereford, Limangus, Limousin, Shorthorn and Senepol.
